Simple Present dan Simple Past

Simple Present
Pengertian: menyatakan fakta, kebiasaan dan kejadian yang terjadi saat ini.
Fungsi: untuk membuat simple statement yang berlaku general (berlaku kapan saja) maupun tidak general (menggunakan verb)
Pola:
(+) Subject + Verb I + Object
(-) Subject + do/does not + Verb I + Object
(?) Do/does + Subject + Verb I + Object
Contoh:
(+) I play tennis on Friday
(-) I do not  play tennis on Friday
(?) Do you play tennis on Friday?
He, She, dan It + -s/ -es
Contoh:
(+) She is beautiful
(-) She isn't beautiful
(?) Is She beautiful?
Simple Past
Fungsi: untuk menyatakan kegiatan/ aktivitas diwaktu  lampau yang sudah selesai dilakukan atau yang sudah terjadi.
Pola I:
(+) S + V2
(-) S + did not + V1
(?) did + S + V1?
Contoh:
(+) I went to school
(-) She did not go with me
(?) did you go to London?
Pola II:
(+) S + was/ were + Ad
(-) S + was/ were not +
(?) was/ were + S + ket
Contoh:
(+) They were in Bali last week
(-) He was not cool last night
(?) Was Tom at home last night?
